Sirens’ Café is the brainchild of Carmella Hynes & Denise McMillan daughter and mother team. Carmella was raised in southern California surrounded by a family of creative cooks starting with her great-grandparents Carmella & Nick LaRocco. Nick LaRocco was a chef at both the renowned Brown Derby and Perino’s in Hollywood. Carmella’s grandmother, Angie, was also a great cook and hosted countless meals for family members and friends over the years.
Carmella has always been in the hospitality business starting with her first job as a dishwasher, which led to working in all aspects of the restaurant from the kitchen to the dining room in one of the finest resorts in Northern Idaho. After high school she attended Lorenzo de Medici Culinary School in Florence, Italy and graduated from Northern Arizona University with a Bachelors degree in Restaurant and Hotel Management in 2004.
Denise has been cooking for family and friends for many years. Her introduction to cooking started at an early age, as she worked alongside her grandfather and mother. She has perfected her culinary skills over the years and has always been facinated with flavors from all over the world. Denise views the presentation of food as another extension of her many artistic talents.
